BLUE SCHOOL CADET RIFLE

PRACTICE

Yesteeday morning at 8 o'clock several members of the above corps met at the rifle range, Mount Eden, for ball practice, at 100, 150, and 200 yards range. "We append the score : — Servant Scon 30 Private Campbell 37 Private Goodwin 27 Private Tudehopo 21 Private Little 10 Private Shcehey 7 The monthly inspection of the No 1 Royal Company, A.R.V., will take place at 7 o'clock this evening, at the Albert Barracks. Every member including the band are requested to attend. We are informed that his Worship the Mayor intends to offer a. gold medal, to be fired for by Cadets. The Auckland Scottish Volunteers met last evening for drill. After going through platoon exercise, the secretary laid before the meeting a letter he had received from the captain of the Thames Scottish Volunteers, stating that that corps intended coming up to Auckland on .Saturday, the 30th instant. It was agreed that the ASV. should meet them on the wharf and welcome them.

The Auckland Naval Volunteers met at Fort Britomart last evening, for drill. There was a full attendance; Captain Lelioy, Lieuts. Chapman and Wells being present. After the parade a meeting was held, when it was agreed that the A.N.V. should meet the Thames Naval Volunteers on their arrival in Auckland, on Saturday, 30th inst, and give them a welcome. The members of the Prince Alfred Light Horse Troop met last evening at the Albert Barracks for drill in cavalry sword exercise.

The Auckland Engineer Volunteer Corps assembled last evening for parade and drill at the Albert Barracks, under command of Lieutenant Kitchen. The efficiency of the corps gave rise to some complimentary remarks. A parade of No 3 company A.8..V. will take place to-morrow evening at the Albert Barracks. All members, including recruits, are requested to attend.
