POLICE COURT.
THIS DAY. f Before G. M. Mitford and Edward Isaacs, Esqs., Justices. DRUNKENNESS. Eleven drunkards were punished in the usual manner. BHEACH OF MEECHANT SHIPPING ACT. Augusto Grandez and Win. Wellfare, articled seamen on the ship City of Auckland, were charged by James Millan, mate of that vessel, with wilful disobedience of lawful commands. Prosecutor failed to appear, and the men were discharged. BEEACH OF MUNICIPAL POLICE ACT. _ George Scorgie, charged with driving a vehicle on the wrong side of Queen street, pleaded guilty. Fined 2s 6d and costs. THREATENING LANGUAGE. Margaret McOann was charged by Anne Jane Nixon with threatening to take her life. Defendant said she had not e ren seen prosecutrix on'the day in question. Anne Jane STixon deposed that defendant was intoxicated on that day,—went into a store where she was, and threatened three times over to stick a knife into her. Another witness corroborated the statement. Bound over to keep the peace for three months, in two sureties for £10 each,—in default of which to bo imprisoned, for that period,
