December IG, 7.35 p.in Messrs Steel and Howard's troupe is drawing crowded houses. Kopata. on his return from Napier, held a meeting with the Uriwcras, and they undertook to be responsible to the Government for the good conduct of* the people within their district, and in the event of finding Te Kooti of surrendering him. At the present lime they had no knowledge of To Kooti'n hiding place. Eopata is at Whakatane awaiting the arrival of the Luna to take him home.
