THE VOLUNTEER CHRONICLE
EIFLE PEIZE CUP. The well-known jeweller, Mr Beck, of Queen street, has with his accustomed liberality presented to the Eifle Volunteers the finest silver cup ever competed for by volunteers in this province. It is in the form of a vase, richly chased, and is valued at £25. It is to be fired for as a district prize, Presentations of this kind are of infinite service in keeping up a spirit of emulation among Volunteers, who always require stimulants, and does much towards keeping the martial spirit from nagging.
