RESIGNATION.
To the Editor of the Evening Star. SIE, —If the authors of the anonymous letters in the Cross will father their children by publishing their names, I will give the explanation they ask for ; of course, members and ex-members of the Council excepted. One question I may with justice to the public give an answer to. V the Council wish me to take my seat-' usual, I intend so to do; and if tb/ ilo that I shall not take my seat, I / conclude the Councillors, many of at least, have changed their minds, .^thank: them for their decision. The v^r^jeil have discretionary power. First part of the Regulations of Proceedings of Council will show the power, and the enclosed extract relative to resignations of aldermen will show one of the many precedents. I am, &o, Chaeles Atkin.
