LIFE ASSURANCE.
Some recent lamentable sudden deaths shou'd iwaken the attention of those who have not raken the precaution of insuring their lives to '.he paramount duty they owe ito their own families, and also to society, to provide for those di-pendent, upon them in the event of -.heir bein_ removed. The sum required to >c paid fur a young man in health is not large,.and one would imagine it would add to the comfort and security of life to know that •your family was provided for. As an instance of" the ex'raordinary advantages to be secured by the mutual principle of life insurance, we take the following cases from the recent Australian papers: —"At the Australian Mutual Provident Society, the late Dr. Savage in urcd his wife's life for £500 in 1851. The widow died lately in Lond.n, and the value of j-.he policy is now £1057 10s Bd."— Sydney Morning Herald, 7th October, 1871 —The Argus also say , date 21st August, 1871 *-— ". he late Mr. Raymond, whose death was noticed in our columns a short time sijice, i isured his _ife r for £500 in (he Australian'" vlulual Provident Society in 1851. Tho premiums paid by him amounted to £367 18s. kl., but the bonuses added to his policy 1 mounted to £376 14s. 10 I, so that his representatives got.back, npt only all., he premiums le had| ; p .id,-but something more in additioH to the principal sum assured."
