AUCKLAND RIFLE ASSOCIATION

AN adjourned meeting of person* interested ii t*;e formation of an Auckland Rifle Asiocia< ti«>n; was; held yesterday afternoon, at th« office of the Harbour Board, Queen street There was a small attendance. At the last meeting a committee was appointed to dr»\n up rules. Stc, for the guidance of the Association. J. C. .Firth, Esq., one of the vicepresidents, occupied the chair. The committee brought urn the following rules, which they had drawn up :—l. The objects of the Association shall b ■ to promote rifle shooting, and to foster the Volunteer movement throughout the province. 2. The Association shall consist of annual subscribers of not less than £1 Is, and of annual subscribers of 10s 6d, the latter being enrolled members of any Volunteer corps id the province. S There shall be a president, two vice-presidents, two honorary g«e< eturids, and an honorary treasurer elected at each annual general meeting. Dovore, be the committee f>r tiii ensuing ye<*r.'' That would still leave two vacancies. -Seconded by Capt. D trgaviile, and agreed to. —This was all the business and the meeting adjourned.—Herald
