WRECK OF THE WAIHOPAI.
Information reached town yesterday afternoon of the wreck of the schooner Waihopai in Palisser Bay, where she had gone to seek refuge from the fury of the -recent, gale, The Waihopai was the property of Captain Cross, of Nelson.— Nelson Colonist. : . :,
The same journal of the 21st says:—" This schooner^ which we last heard of as having gone ashore^in Palliser;,Bay, has been taken into .Wellington, reporting the loss of both anchors and chain, boom, and; bulwarks. By the Claud Hamilton, yesterday, . anchors, &c, were sent to aid her arrival safely, in this port, when the damage she fyas sustained will be more particularly ascertained.. Considering the reputation of the Bay she. grounded, it is fortunate that any "portion, of her is left to ctobs the Straits."
