SHOOTING STAR GOLD MINING COMPANY.

A GENTLEMAN called at our offica this morning with about half a hundredweight of specimens, which had been taken from the field now occupied by the Shooting Star Gold Mining Con>p;«uy. The specimens were certainly some of the very be&t that lwve ever been extracted from the q lartz mountains at the Thames. We understand they were taken out last Monday, at a distance of about Bl> fe-t from the boundary of tho Middle Star, from a distinct reef running apparently towards the chain of the Little Ang»!. J hey were extracted from a drive which had been driven from a winzo about 150 feet from t;rass. The specimens are such as have been seldom seen, and nan now be inspected at the shop of Mr. Macready, ai the foot of Shortland Crescent.
