Messrs. W. Gh Harrison and Co. sold the unexpired lea c of house and allotment at Short land, in the occupation of Mr. Phillips, for the sum of £150 cash. There was also a large parcel of drapery offered. There was a large attendance, but only portions of the lines offered were disposed of, and, considering the bare state of the market, prices were not considered satisfactory. Messrs. Tonks and Co. held to-day, at their auction rooms, an extensive sale of groceries, teas, oilmen's stores, &c. There was a good attendance of the trade. The following are the quotations :—Yellow sugar, 4^d to 5d per lb. ; Brandon's candles, lid per Ib.; Devoe's kerosene, 2s Hod per gallon ; Kitchen's soap, 33s per cwt.; HB. candles, 5d per lb. ; ■almon, 12s 6d per dozen ; salmon, in bulk, 3jd per lb. Teas in band, ex Bernard, No. 81, Is 4d per lb.; No. 96, Is 6d per lb.; No. 34, 1b 9d per lb.; ex Peter, No. 9, Is 7id per lb.; ex Telki, No. 50, Is 6d per lb. Duty paid : Ex Telki, boxes, 23s each ; ex Vision, boxes, 25s 61 each ; orange pekoe, chests, Is 6id per lb. Califbmian flour, £15 per ton ; Wilson's jams, 6s 6d per dozen ; B. nuts, 6d per lb.; Morton's salad oil, 10s 6d per dozen.
