ARRIVAL OF THE LTÆITIH.

The schooner Lsetitia, Captain Davies, arrived in harbour this morning from the Fijis bringing 5 passengers. She left Levuka on the 14th October, and had strong south and south-east winds till the 25th, thence north-east winds to the Three Kings, which •were passed on the 29th, and strong southerly down the coast.

The schooner Flirt left Lyttelton for this port on the 30th instant, with 700 sacks wheat, 350 ditto oats, and 100 ditto bran. The p.s. Duke of Edinburgh arrived this morning from Wangarei with 15 passangers, and the following cargo : 17 head cattle, 9 tons gum, 12 boxes eggs, 14 boxes butter, 2 tons sundries, &c—Hague Smith aud Walker, agents. The cutter Tarn O'Shanter sailed from the Manukau to day for the Thames with 4000 feet of timber for Captain Souter. Per Lsetitia, from Fiji:—s cases acid, H. M. Jervis.

The French war steamer Hamelin, carrying four guns, in command of Captain Pouthier, arrived in harbour last evening from New Caledonia. She left Noumea on the 19th of October, and experienced fine weather and head winds across. The Hamelin is a very fine looking war ship. She is about 1250 tons register, and her engines are of 240-horse power. Her average speed under steam is 12 knots. She will probably remain here for a week, and will then proceed to Valparaiso. The schooner Tawera arrived from Poverty Bay yesterday afternoon, bringing a full cargo of wool for Mr. J. S. Macfarlane. The schooner Meteor, with wool, for this port, had sailed from Poverty Bay- prior to the sailing of the Tawera.

The schooner Colonist arrived from Kaipara yesterday afternoon, having left on Thursday last. She brings a cargo of 50 tons gum, for Messrs. Brown, Campbell and Co.
