October 26, 2.12 p.m.—About 150 people present at the laying foundation stone of St. Stephen's Church. Procession formed in township and marched to the site. After laying the stone, the Lord Bishop of Wellington preached an eloquent sermon. L'horal singing was very good. £10 15s was contributed.
