VOLUNTEER MATTERS.
Yestehday evening the Naval Volunteers, No. 1 Company, met for their weekly drill, at the Drill-shed, Britdmart Barracks. The men were put through skirmishing drill by Captain Lelioy, ami the cadets were put through the manuel exercise by Lieutenant Chapman. To-night, we understated; that the Victoria Company, A K.V., the Hob_on Company, A.R.V., and the Naval Volunteers, No. 1. Company, will parade in the Albert Barracks, at 6.30 o'clock, for the purpose of going through battalion movements. We understand that blank cartridge will be served out for the purpose" of'practising the men in the feu dejoie. The band of the Naval Volunteers will also parade at the same time and
place. - Tiie monthly inspection of the Auckland Troop of Royal Cavalry Volunteers will take place in the Albert Barracks, at four o'clock, on Friday evening next. The usual weekly parade of the Engineer Volunteers was held last evening, at the Drill-shed. There was a very good muster of members, and the usual movements were gone through.
