THE HARBOUR BOARD.

Tite usual fortnightly meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board was held to-day. Pre-sent-^-Caplain Daldy (in the .-'chair), and Messrs. Macready, Oascy, Anderson, Copland, 'Niccol,- Boylan, P. A. Philips, J3. Tonka, L. D. Nathan.—The, minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.—A letter was read from Simeon Full, asking the Board to buy a patent from him with regard to dredging the harbour.—The matter was ordered to stand over, the Board having no use for the patent at present. —A letter was read front J. S. Macfarlane, asking that a crane ought to be placed upon the T used- by the Thames steamers. The letter : was ■■ referred to the Wharf Committee. —Mr. Tonka thought there should be a large crane erected upon, the: wharf for tho use :of lar,»e boomers and ships, eapab'e oflit ting twenty j ori9> A. letter was read from the secretary of the Auckland Rowing Club, asking to lease it part, of the eastern side of the breakwater, for the purpose of erecting a boat houao. — Mr! -Purien thought the club should j;et the cite for nothing. —Mr. Tonics moved that the nppltcation be granted to the club to have the site free, subject to six months' notice of r.r,!K>7nl..--C;ij>l/;im.
