£.;. \-;'': - ; A„^ ■ _ •'.■-l-'^^ii-rtot'ii bi clearing" tlie filth ! away from the beach, under Custom-house: street, was undertaken, and the good effects of the removal of the stinking rubbish had become apparent, it was hardly to be supposed "nJSnwaalg would be so foolish as to recomsome Bhort-M|lWaa&^Ja.ce. But we find that probable fate of the bottSoi of"his'a*riri.th% next time he visits that region, has been foolish enough to throw overboard a large heap of scoria ballast, in a spot where it is certain to graze or smash in the bottom of any small vessel rash enough to haul alongside. It is well that this individual should know that he has rendered himself liable, under the 50th section of the Harbour Regulations, to a penalty of £20; and it is sincerely to be hoped that he may, on his next visit, meet with a similar fate to that of Sir Ralph, the • Eover, -who cut away the Inchcape Bell, and was wrecked on the rock when he returned to the locality.
