AUCKLAND ROWING CLUB.
TaiißE was a very good attendance of members at the meeting of the Auckland Rowing Club last evening. Capt. Oxley was in tho chair, and the minutes of the previous meeting having been read, a discussion ensued as to the advisability of sending a crew to compete at the forthcoming intercolonial aquatic sports. It was ultimately decided to send a crew, provided sufficient funds could bo raised. Mr. Oxley stated that they had sufficient timber here to build a boat, which he believed would be equal to any that, might be built in Sydney or Melbourne. It was also decide I to challenge tho Thames Rowing Club to a match to bo rowed in December. Tlie secretary slated that the Barracks would bo engnged on the 9th November, and it. was arranged that the athletic sports should take place on the 30fh of November. The programme will bo issued on Saturday next. In addition to tho usual sports, there will be a kangaroo flab race.— Herald.
