N.B.—Rule 15: Measurement Rale for Sailing Boats or Yachts under 10 tons. Take the length from the forepart of the stem to the afterpart of the sternpost in a straight line on deck, from which deduct extreme breadth (exclusive of belts or mouldings). Multiply this product by the same extreme breadth and again by half the extreme breadth, and divide by 94 for the tonnage. Measurements to be taken in feet and parts of a foot. If a boat is so contrived that she is longer at any other place between stem anil sternpost than on the line above-mentioned, she is to be measured at such greater length, or at the load-water line, at the option of the measurers.
