To the Editor of the Ktevwo St^j" but
Sib,—As I not only feel great jof the interest in my friend Captain Symona coal, am also really desirous for the goodiuau province, that the finding of paynblemes down Lhe Manakau should be proved, I Jat feel obliged if you will ineert these few me in Tom' paper, and so inform the public t\* "the party of six men with the scientu gentleman" returned from their exploring expedition on Saturday night, bringing aplendid specimens of coal, which baa been found iv three different places on Captain Symouds' property at Muddy Creek. There were in the party three practical miners, and they are convinced that there will be a splendid coal mine at that place. There will also they say, be great facilities for shipping the cod, us a short tram road can be made from the point of the cliff which is very close to the channel, so at any time of tide they would be abla to Buoot the coals into the vessels. My friends intend, as soon as ever ihe sum required can be obtained, to sink t* shaft and begin operations. As I said iv a former biter, he must ast- assistance from his friends in this work, and I eincerelj trust many will come forward. —I am, &c , " An Old Uhum."
