THE REGATTA.
"We observe that a meeting of the Regatta Club will be held on Friday evening next. We understand that the meeting is held thus early in order that arrangements may be completed and the programme issued in time for those desirous of taking part in the Eegatta to have opportunity to make all needful preparation. Some dissatisfaction was expressed last year at the delay in issuing the programme, boats having been built in accordance with previous programmes. On this occasion abundance of time will be afforded, and we may anticipate corresponding interest in the .Regatta. We desire to inform members (hat those who have paid their guinea subscriptions last year will have the right to vote on Friday evening in the election of the committee. To the outside public we would also intimate that the annual subscription of a guinea constitutes membership, and we would strongly urge, that all those who appreciate the "advantages of athletic exercises and amusement of the most invigorating and unobjectionable kind should lend their countenance and practical sympathy to those engaged; in conducting the proceedings of our most delightful annual holiday.
