TEA MEETING.

Last evening the anniversary tea meeting iii connection with the Kdwardes-sfreet Sunday School took place in the School-room. A very large number of the scholars and their parents and friends sat down, to » vory ample repast —indeed, there was such a large attendance that there had to be two sittings.- After tea, the whole moved into the Chapel, and the Rev. Mr. vv'aters was voted to the chair. The annual report was read by the secretary, Mr. Pollen, and presented a very satisfactory state of things generally. Its adoption wis moved by Mr. Glanville, and seconded by Mr. Smith, and agreed to with acclamation. A letter was read from Captain Peek, apologising, for his absence, which was caused through indisposition. The meeting was addrcsi-fd by Messrs, H. Cornford,. Spragg, and Wells, who all Bpoke of the great advantages to be derived from an attendance at these schools. Mr. Goldie proposed a vote of-thank.-* to all those ladies and gentlemen who had provided tea and had in any why assisted, 'including the choir. The vote of thanks was carried with loud applause. Mr. Patterson presided at the organ, and between each address selecjtionsof sacred music, were very nicely rendered. The evening was very ple'i=aiiily spent, and was brought to a close in the usual ;manner. .. :,.-..
