PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, NORTH.
A public meeting of tho members and adherents of the Presbyterian Church, at North Shore, was held last night in the church. There was a good attendance, and the Rev. J. Wallace, minister of Wangarei, occupied the chair. The' purpose of the meeting was to consider respecting the settlement of the Rev. P. Mackenzie, recently arrived in the Countess of Kintore, and after considerable, but harmonious discussion, it was unanimously resohed that having heard Mr, ''Mackenzie, the congregation express to the Preebytex-y their desire that he should be placed ever them as their . pastor, and that Messrs. Niccol, Wyles, and Crombie should represent tl_o oo__ g roga..inn at the first meeting of the Presbytery, and convey to the Presbytery this resolution of the congregation. A very cordial and unanimous opinion was expressed Regarding Mr. Mackenzie's suitableness for the charge. We congratulate our Presbyterian friends at the North Shore on their wise and -judicious - action in this matter, find, from unanimous testimony,. believe that, the most satisfactory relatione! between pastor and people, and great success to Mr. Mackie's ministrations,; may be. confidently anticipated. * „'
