PRESBYTERIAN- CHURCH NORTH SHORE.
On yesterday forneuoon the Rev. P. McKenzie, who arrived last week by the Countess of Kintcfe, preached1 His first discourse in the colony to * large iancF attentive congregation in the Presbyterian Church at the North Shore. The rev. gentleman has a very pleasing audLpopu, lar style of preaching, aud it is :stcougly felt that ho will prove a valuable acquisition to the cause of the Church of Scotland in this province; and we congratulate pur North Shore Presbyterjan friends on the opportunity afforded^ them of having the pastoral tie once more formed in circumstances so likely to prove to their great gidvantage. "-"- The arran, gepieut which has been with kindness carried out by a gentlecaan, resident at the North Shore, by which public worship^ has been linsuspended, however satisfactory, could not have been expected to be of a permanent character, and with their pretty little church free from debt, and in a rising and most interesting district, wo anticipate for their pastoral and congregational relations a very pleasing future/ Mx. McKenzie, notwithstanding the great disadvantage of having stepped from board ship into the midst of ] scenes ihe condiditions and requirements of which must have been entirely unknown to him, has we understand created a very favourable impression, and as there is a meeting, of the congregation convened for this evening we have no doubt that arrangements will be satisfactorily completed for the permanent settlement of Mr. McKonzie. The rev. gentl^mnn preached again .last night with groat acceptance in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in the city. < ? . ,:
