THE SCHOONER RIFLEMAN.
We are glad to learn that the three-masted schooner Biflema'h, which recently went ashore at Blind Bay, Great Barrier, has.been successfully floated, and is'now safely at anchor in our harbour. The work was undertaken by Mes-rs. Henderson and. Spraggon, and on Thursday last they left Auckland with a number of bands'and all the'appliances necessary for floating the vessel. . Op their arrival at Blind Bay' they found the bilge much damaged, and the hoTe had to be patched up. On Saturday the vessel was drawn a distance of over 400 feet over the sand, :and on1 i-iinday night she was floated. A quantity of ballast and about 40 tons of firewood was then placed on board,, and yesterday afternoon she set sail for Auckland, arriving in harbour at-10 p.m< The, success which has attended, the raising of this .vessel. reflects the. highest credit on the firm of .Messrs. Henderson and Spraggon, who will now ta.ke the vessel in their yards, and have her stripped and thoroughly repaired. •■},!/ ■
