THE HIPPODROME.
The scone that wi'.l be presep.ted .to .the eye. of citizens on Saturday next is.one, the equal of which is, we think, rarely seen in New. Zeiil.nd. On that day, in the Albert Barracks Keservc, Mr. Murray's company will give a repetition of performances that: in Sydney were regarded as the mos: remarkable ever seen in that city. Thtse consist of Roman chariot racing, in addition to ; horse racing, under the peculiar conditions which can b'fe^-Upplied by an acrobatic and gymnastic company aloic. Wo will not have the 30,000 people; andi the vice-regal presence, as they had in Sydney ; but we are confident that a very largo proportion of the whole population of Auckland will bo present on the occasion. On Friday, a grand cavalcade will parade the streets of the city,, which, ive have no doubt, will whet the appetite bf the people for the grand events of the following day.
