Wjs are glad to see that a first-e'.ass opportunity is about to.be afforded to those who, desire to advance thfir educational Hcquirements, and to do so without interfering with ordinary avocations. Messrs. J. Pittar and Stnnlny Williams, the English and classical ■masters :in the Auckland College, luivo opened "The Athenroum," for imparting, in Evening clasßes, a: very comprckmsivo course of instruction for adult*,. |Gliissiw<, AfatheraaticM, Frcuch, German,'lo^cthoiwith an extended course of Knglish, including bookkeeping, <fee, &c, are in the programme ; and from the character and ability of the two gentlemen;;who have pjponod the Athbnsbum. we have no hesitation in saying that these classes will be a real boon to many in the city.
