THE MAILS.
Mails will close as under :—
For Thames, this day, at 4 p.m. and 5.30 p. m , and to-morrow, at 12.30 p.m. and i p.m. For Russell and Kawakawa, per Comerang, tomorrow, at 3 p.m. For Alongonui, per Ivnnhoe, to-morrow at 3 p.m. Mails for the undermentioned places, pers.s. Hero, will close at this office on Thursday, 14th instant, as under:— For India, China, Mauritius, Mediterranean ports, and Continent of Europe, at 1 p. m. For Australian Colonies, at 2 p.m. For United Kingdom, via Suez and Southampton {for lotters specially so addressed), at 2 p.m. For United Kingdom via Brindisi at 2.30 p.m. For money orders, registered letters, and newspapers, at 1 p.m. Late letters for Sydney, Melbourne, and United Kingdom, via Southampton, bearing respectively 3d and Gd in addition to the postage, will bo received till 2.30 p.m. S. B. Bias, Chief Postmaster.
Note. —A Post Office has been opened at Lower Matakana. Mails close at this office on Saturdays, at 10 a.m. Keturn mails arrive on Mondays, at 5 p.m.
It is also notified for information of the public that mails for Matakana, Pakiri, Te Aral, Manga wai, Omaha, and Mangatoroto will in future be despatched from this office on Saturday, at 10 a.m., instead of Monday, as heretofore. Keturn mails will arrive on Mondays, at 5 p.m.
