LL.D.; the Rev. Dr. Wallis ; the Re?. Messrs, Dudley, Jones, Nelson, Lewis, Berry, Cosh, Mncnicol, Rigg, Macdonal'd, Davies, Bree, Edger, and Waters.—The iniuutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed,— A letter from tiie Rev. P. H. Dornford,' regretting liia unavoidable absence, was read,— Kcsolvkil, on the raotiou of the. Ren Warloif Duvies, seconded by the Eev. C. Wateri, " That the salary of the missionary for Goal, Hospital, and Lunatic Asylum: be at tlio rate of £150 per annum.—Resolved, on tho motion of Mr.. Davies, seconded by E«t, C. Rigg, "That no candidate be cnosenwho receives less than two-thirds of the votes of the ministers present." —Resolved, on'^fcht motion of Rev. S. Edger, seconded by E«t. A. Macdonald, "That tho method of voting explained by the Secretary be adopted." According to the practice, referred to, each candidate must -be proposed and Beconded, in order to he eligible. Should several persons be nominated, the names~to be "buiioUed down" until the two having tho highest number of votes obtained; these again to be submitted to a final vote. The several applications were laid before the meeting. Tho following sums, less the difference between £150 and £200, the sum originally contemplated as the missionary's salary, were guaranteed : —Bishop Cowie, for the Episcopal Church, £50; Rev. C. Rigg, for the Wesleyan Church. £40; Presbyterian (to be ascertained) j the Eev. Warlow Davies, for Cougregationalists, £20 ; B.ev. S. Edger, £10 ; Dr. VVallis, £5 ; J£tev. 0. Waters, £s.—Resolved,jon the Motion Ojf the Eev. B. Macnicol, seconded by the Rev.jE. N. Bree, " That this meeting be adjournda to Monday, October 9, for the purpose of then proceeding to the election of a missionary." —Tie secretary submitted tho bills for advertising, and was instructed to pay the same. —Thauks were voted to the secretary arid president, and the meeting was concluded with prayer,by, .the Rev. 3. Lewis.
