THE SO >TT CENTENARY IN LONDON. -A CASK OR ASIATIC CHOLERA IN LONDON.—CHOLERA IN BERLIN.— SEVEKE STORM IN THE WEST OF ENGLAND. London, August 13. —The Scott Centenary •was celebrated to-day by a banquet in the great hall of the Cannon-street Hotel. Hep■worth Dixon occupied tiie chair as President. Earl of Manchester, Lord Lytr.on and Dr. Ramsey, Vice-Presidents, with some four hundred persons, all or nearly all distinguished iv the world of letters, were present. The toasts were much the same as at tho Edinburgh Celebration of tho 9th. The daywas also celebrated at the Cnstal Palace, Sydenham, and in various towns in Scotland. A case of Asiatic cholera 1 as appeared in London, and it, creates extraordinary excitement among the people. A despatch from Berlin says that the cholera is increasing iv Konigsberg, but that there are no cases yet in Dantzig. A heavy thunder storm in the west of England ha 3 caused much damage to crops.
