ATTACK ON THE MARION RENNY.
I Tb,e Marion Renuy, schooner, , under, the command of Mr. J. D. Harry, returned oil Thursday morning from: a labor cruise. Shje left Levuka: on 10th May, under-command-of Mr. Robinson. Whilst cruising among the islands her boat's, crew was fired upon:several times, but only in pno attack, made upon it was there any damage done. This attack was made on Bth July, at the,,aslaud of Santa, when Captain Robinson was speared in the fleshy part of the left arm above the elbow. The spear had Several prongi, but was taken out and the wound sucked, so as to draw out' any! poison in case the' weapon.had been a poisoned one. The wound progressed favourably, however. But Captain .Robinson was afterwards, taken ill, and being unable to accompany the vessel Was landed on" the 28th July, together with a passenger, Mr. Roaoli, who remained behind to attend;on him;' The vessel then started' for.' Fiji. On the return trip she experienced very bad weather, encountering a very heavy gale oh the sth August, which lasted for several days.
