We have received two letters to tho City Council, on the elections, both transgress in not furnishing the) names of the writers in confidence. Besides, they are too much of the nature of electioneering addresses, which' are usually inserted as advertisements.
Return of sick treated' during the week ending Saturday, September 9th, 1871, at the Provincial Hospital :— Remained last return, 78; admitted since, 5; discharged, 5; died, 0; remaining, 78; males, 66 ; females, 12. Arrangement of cases :—Fever (comal), 1;, s-'urvv, 1 ; scrofula, 3 ; syphilis, 2 ; cancer, 3 ; phthisis, 9 ; dropsy, 2; rheumatism, 8; lunacy, 1; paralysis, 6; chorea, 2 ; epilepsy, 3; amaurosis, 1; ophthalmia, 2 ; pleurisy and pneumonia, 3;- bronchitis, 6; aneurism, 1; heart disease, 2; albuminuria, 2; fistula, 1; abscess and ' ulcer, s '; wdunds and contusions,; 2 ; fractures; 3 j uecrosM,- '1 ; ; cutaneous, 2 ; debility, 6. No deaths occurred daring the week. . :
