THE KAIPARA RAILWAY.
This long talked off and important work lsjto bo begun on Thursday, the 31st instant, when the ceremony of turning the first sodwi 11 be performed at the Eiverhead end ol the line. The steamer Lady Bowen, which has been chartered for the occasion, will leave the Queen-street wharf on that day at 9 o'clock am conveying the Deputy-Superintendent, the Executive, and those members of the Provincial Council who may desire to be present on the occasion, returning to town about 3 p.m. the same day. A large number of .European settlers and natives are expected to he present on the occasion. The event -will be one of no small importance, and we have no doubt that there will be a large assemblage -of people who are interested in matters so deeply connected with the future development «f the province.
