Thb usual monthly" meeting of the Chamber o f Commerce was held yesterday afternoon, at the new room of the Chamber, above the Itices of the Harbour Board, Queen-street. There were present: Messrs. The Secretary (Mr. Lusk) stated that the Council of the Acclimatißation Society had faever authorised Mr. Stannus Jones to make the arrangements.—lt waß resolved to forward Copies of the correspondence to Mr. Jones on his return from Australia. The Proposed Recipeooitx Tbea^Y.— The Chairman said he had received a letter from the Hobart Town Chamber of Comil^. vce On a subject which had before been brought before the Council by Mr. Kandall, namely, the proposed Australian fietiiprocity Treaty. p-The sub-committee had considered that the matter could not be re considered.-—The Chairman said that, the letter was a very long Oile, alid was in connection with the subject of an inter-colonial tariffi A certain Act had been passed by the House of Assembly, and had gone to England for the sanction of Her Majesty.—On the motion of Mr. Tonks, the letter was ordered to lie on the table.

BepoeTS.—The Chairman stated that report b had been received from the New York and San Francisco Chambers of Commerce ; also, works from the California Immigration Society, on the subject of settlement generally. Papers and Statistics. —The Chairman ntated that the Government bad handed over td the Chamber all the papers aud statistical information that had been asked for.

New Mbmbebs. —The following gentlemen were then voted for bj ballot:—Messrs. W. G. Hurrison, W. C. Wilson, Charles Williamson, James Allen. Having been duly proposed and seconded, they were all unanimously elected.

Funds in Hand. —-The Chairman stated that the funds in the'binds of the Chamber amounted to £33 10a. Id.

Resignation of Mkmbees. —The Chairman uDnounced that Messrs. Vauce, Mason, Lu»k, and Dyson had resigned as members of the Chamber.

New Bills.—Mr. Tonks suggested tliat the proceedings of I he House of Assembly should be carefully watched, in order that if any commercial bills wei'e brought forward they might be discussed in that Chamber. —The Chairman thought it would be well to send to one of the Auckland members, and request him to watch the interests of the Chamber in such matters. —Mr. P, A. Philips suggested that, the Superintendent would be the beat person to apply to in the matter.—Capt. Daldy moved, "Time His Honor the Superintendent bo requested to at once forwurd to thih Chamber drafts of any Acts ritroduced into the Assembly likely to affect the bo"mm»rcial interest of the colony.—Seconded by Mr. Nathan. —Air. Dargaville thought that sixth a request should be sent to a member of the Government. His own opinion was that Mr. Vogel was the best man to apply to. —The resolution of Captain Daldy was agreed to. — This was all the business and the meeting adjourned.
