To the Editor of the Evening Bias. Sic, —In Saturday's issue of the jLJ News, and Monday's issue of the Moi? News, appears one of the usual misprint/^ connection with mining matters. I n t .? journals the return from the Whau claim °f tho past fortnight is given at 27 ozs.. imJj of 27H ozs. This statement appearing 23 other journals but those above nailed w fl iji have caused, not only a depression in the nrif of scrip, but have possibly led to its m___a Fortunately, however, they serve to drawonh favourable attention. The question is f M . quently asked, are these misprints the result of carelessness, consequent on the indifferet talent employed on the organ, or inserted for another object ? Possibly the Editor will afford an explanation.—3? ours, &c,
