August 11.—The Treasurer is modifying the tariff relating to manufactured grain — The Golden Age has been wrecked on the bar of Sittalt's Island, and the Ocean Pride on King's Island. The crews have been saved. —Mr. Parkes, of Sydney, has interviewed Mr. Duffy on behalf of Hall's Californian line.— —Bright Brothers and Captain Grey have interviewed Mr. Duffy with reference to the steam mail service via the Cape.—The steamer Bcrward, 28 days direct from Foo Chow, reports the prices of teas being advanced. She also brings Inter unimportant English news.' —Arrived—Gothenburg, Kate Conley, and Janet Stewart, from Lyttelton; Emma Jane, from Onehunga; Acacia, from Oamaru ; Sarah and Mary, from Hokitika ; and John King, from Invereargill (Otago.)— Sailed—Magnetic, for Grey mouth ; Kate Conley, for Westport ; Claud Hamilton, for Hokitika; Our Hope, for Auckland ; Gamecock, for Dunedin ; and Omeo, for Port Darwin.—Tookey's are quoted at £30 10s to £30 15s.—New Zealand wheat, 6s 6d; oats, 3s Bd to 3s 7d.
