PRINCE OF WALES THEATRE.
" Formosa," at this place of amusement, appears to Lave a great hold on the theatre-going portion of our community," Last night another crowded hoi]£e greeted the fifth appearance of this great' &T&M, and the manner in which it was received last night there is every probability of its continuing its hold for the "next' week, for "everybody and the child" appeat'de. termined to see it. " Formosa " seems to gain in favor every evening, ancT deservedly so ; for we have no doubt from the manner in which it has been produced it ought to have a long life. We do not remember to have seen a piece placed on the stage in a more perfect manner. We are given to understand that the enterprising manager, >■ Mr. B. N. Jones, is about to make arrangements with an Italian Opera Troupe, who are expected here by the October steamer. Mr. Jones having established an agency in California, will have . a constant, supply of theatrical stars. JNegotiatians are pending with the following celebr|ties .-■hMl"' James Carden, Mr. EdwitT Adams;" Mrs. Landre, and others. ■ Such enterprise deserves to succeed, and .we hatejino doubt Mr. Jones will receive the hearty co-operation of the theatre-going public.
