Madame States and an opera company are now playing with great success in Francisco, and will arrive in Auckland, en route for Australia, about October next. Madame States, during her experience in tho chief cities of Europe, including Florenco, Madrid, Paris, and London, achieved an eminent name among the most celebrated of liring vocalists, and if she and her opera cony pany should be induced to give a short season in Auckland, wo' may anticipate a great musical treat.
