in harbour this afternoon, with the Eng-

ish mail

The Nevada left Honolulu on the 30th of July, ceaneeiting there with the is. Ajax, nine days and a half from San Francisco, with pnssengers, mail, and freight for New Zealand ports. Arriveo at Auckland August' 16, at 4 p.m. j strong head winds for several days ; 25 days and 12 hours from San Francisco. Passengers.-^-For Auckland : Messrs. 0. H. Reynolds, David Syme, James Keys, SL. Higgins, wife and three children. For Wellington : Hon. J. Vogel, Messrs. Fox, J. Henderson, Bell, Dees, Curuthers. For Lyttelton: Messrs. Cotheert Wason, Ernest Tinne. For Port Chalmers : Messrs. Thomas Brown, H. Montgomery, Miss Montgomery, and fifteen others. .

The Ajax was detained at San Francisco 30 hours by tho Post-office authorities. After leaving Honolulu the starboard spring bearing of the Nevada was carried away, and the captain deeraed it prudent to have the ship go slow the remainder of tho voyage.
