SERIOUS ACCIDENT ON BOARD THE S.S. HERO.
, A tehx serious accident occurred on Saturday afternoon on board the - s.i., Hero. A man named Bloomfield had gone on board in the morning, and asked Captain Logan if he could give him a passage to Sydney if be worked his passage. The captain said he would, and told him to go down into the hold and commence work at once. Bloomfield accordingly went into the hold, and helped to get out some cargo, among it being some ironwork. One ,of these pieces of ironwork j had., been ruisod almost as far as the deok, when it slipped from . its-fastening?, and K fell on to bis head, striking him' a'Very severe blow, find taking off a large portion of the scalp.
