DmJNKKNNKSS.—Three drunkards were punished in tho usual manner for first offences, and one for a second. . '<'';;
Breach of Municipal Police Act.—John Harkwel), for riding_a horse fariously through Queen-street, on the 12th f imtant, was fined 20s and coats, with the alternative of seven days' imprisonment.
1 Abusive Language.—Elizabeth Johnson, alias Nicholson, was charged by Honora Davis with using abusive language towards her on the 9th of the present, month.—Mr. .Joy appeared for the defendant, and Mr. Sheehan for complainant.— Honora Davis described the circumstances, and detailed the language used. She said she was afraid the annoyance would be repoatedj and requested thai* defendant might oe bound over to kedp the peace. —James O'Connor had heard. Mrs.- Nicholson "jawing" Mrs. Davis—Elizabeth Nicholson (the defendant), denied complainants statement as to the language used, and said she had merely called upon her in consequence of some ill-usage she had bestowed on one of defendant's children. Complainant had struck witness on the head with, a ,plothes-prop.— Tho Bench were of opinion'that both parties! were to blame, and ordered each to find security.to the extent of £20 to keep thetpeacfr for three months, and to pay her own costs.
