The Caledonian is showing really splendid this morning, and a quantity of speciraeus will be taken out this evening.
Tookey tributers (Austen's party) have crushed 24 tons, from which they obtained 40 ounces.
The American Eagle have lodged 24 ounces from their last crushing.
The Wanderers' Hope obtained 4 ounces.
The Inverness (Schofield's tributers) are crushing specimen stone at Mr, Spencer's berdan. The Otago reef is now five feet thick at the 340 feet level. It is expected to prove the Golden Crown reef No. 2.
The Harbour View, on the Kuranui Hill, are exhibiting stone of a good description, only very flaky, at the Bank of New Zealand this morning. A deputation waited upon Mr. Hurst this morning with reference to tho Tararu tracks. Mr. Hurst promised iminediato assistance. Ho, also addressed the Waiotahi Highway Board, and promised £500 towards the road,
