COMMERCIAL.

Vi. '<,} ■ EvitfiirG Stab OiEce, Friday afternoon. Messrs. Tonks and Co. offered at auction, to-dny, the cargo of the Nebraska, from Honolulu, consisting of 3 62 packages of Hawaiian sugar. They only succeeded in placing 1836 packages at from £36 10=i to £21 per ton, in bond. Very many of the lines submitted ■were quite unfitted for counter trade, and, consequently could not be moved off, but all the really saleable- lines fetched very fair prices, and tho competition for them was spirited. " We were glad to perceive that the auctioneers strictly carried out the principle of selling trade lines only, not the unbusinesslike system of single packages at trade prices. , f , . ■ • • '
