THE LATE MR. FOTHERINGHAM.
"We believe it will give general satisfaction to know that an effort is afoot for raising subscriptions for tho widow and children of the late unfortunate victim of the accident at Kybcr Pass. Mr. Orombie, who had known the deceased for twenty years, and speaks of him as a most deserving mah. is actingas treasurer, and will receive such amounts as may be contributed by the,- charitably disposed, and it will be admitted that the work is iv good hands. Already a fair start has been made with the subscription list, and we do trust that a general response will be made to the appeal. The bereavement is sad enough for a family to bear, and it is to be hoped that this may not be super^ added by tho trial-of pinching poverty.
