The Crown Prince have taken but some specimens from the old beach leader this morning.
The Nonpareil is improving in appearauce. The crushing has been stopped at the Criterion battery for want of coals. Six vessels have been lying off for the last week, unable to get near enough to discharge their cargoes. There is a great outcry against the Government for not providing wharf accommodation for the vessels. Several batteries are similarly fixed. There is nothing new from the Caledonian. The Middle Star have crushed 72 tons, taken from the, surface, which gave a splendid yield of 91 ounces. The Dauntless and Sink to Eise crushing has gone one ounce to the ton. The Poverty and Charleston are about to crush again. The Twenty-third of June Company have got. this morning about 50 lbs. good stone. The Manukau battery is full. It has been stopped for the want of coals. They are only able ti keep 30 heads going for themselves.
