MOUNT ROSKILL HIGHWAY DISTRICT.
The annual meeting of ratepayers of this district was held yesterday, at the Prince Albert Inn. Jilpsom. The chair was taken by Mr. Joseph May. The Treasurer laid a statement of the accounts up to the 30th June before the meeting. The total amount of receipts was £302 os. Bd., and tho total expenditure .£298 Os. Id., leaving a balance of £4 os. 7d. A rate of one penny in the £ was levied, after which the meeting proceeded to the election ,of trustees. The five following gentlemen were elected: — Messrs. T. Cleghorn, J. May, J., Hayr, A. Dornwell, and J. Westlake. Messrs. Cleghorn and Hayr were appointed auditors. Some discussion then took place on the subject of work that required to be done at once, and tho chairman of the Board was authorised to expend £30 in the repairs of certain roads, The meeting then separated.
