NAVIGATION CLASSES.
We are glad "to learn that Captain Tilly, late of the Southern Cross, mission schooner, intends to open classes for instruction in navigation. An opportunity is thus afforded to all desirous of qualifying themselves to obtain certificates of competency in the mysteries of this art. As the certificates to be granted in accordance, with recent legislation will be of equal value with, those granted by the Board of Trade, in terms of the Merchant Shipping (Colonial) Act of the Imperial Legislature, 1869, fe!do. nolf doubt that such an • opportunity • will be largely availed of by those engaged in sea-going pursuits. Captain Tilly is so universally well liked, and known to be so thoroughly competent for the fin ties ho is undertaking, that we do not hesitate to predict for him great success; and ns Captain Tilly will suit the various requirements and stages of progress of his pupils by giving a week's, a month's, or a quarter's instruction, according to circumstances, any person, however situated, may benefit by his services.
