BITTEN BY A SNAKE.
Ox Friday, tho 16th ultimo, a youth named David Mitchell, eldest eon of Mr. James Mitchell, of Doughboy Creek, Queensland, was bitten on the leg by one of theje venomous reptiles. He run to a house a short _listanee off, and got the vyout.doi-apart' cut, his brother sucking the , woujicj^and applying ammonia. His father Jdn Jiciirjng pfj.it^.. and not being able to obtain tho man 'of a';_iorse or vehicle, started off on foot to Brisbane, a distance of tome miles ; on the way he gave his son some brandy, which had a favourable effect, and by tho time tluiy reachod the doctor's house, the bad effects had subsided, much to their relief.
