Langton's morion that further taxation is unnecessary, and that the policy of the Government should be one of retrenchment, has been withdrawn.
The defeat of the Government on the property tax is almost certain. It provides for sixpence in the pound on a 1 property 25 per cent., per annum and over. ■ •».; • •
Shocks- of earthquake were felt yesterday at Chiltem and Wodonga.
