The mail steamer Nebraska arrived in harbour this morning; bringing tko English telegrams via Suez. The following is the report of her passage from Auckland and back: —
On June Ist, at 9.30 a.m., left Auckland ; had strong winds along the coast, increasing off the North Cape to a heavy gale, with heavy ,sea. Last two days of the voyage had fine weather, arriving in Sydney at 8.30 p.m., June sth, 4} days ; fastest passage on record. The Hero arrived at Newcastle next morning at G a.m.. 513 £-24 days, reporting heavy gale off the North Cope. Hauled in to the Circular Quay next afternoon, and began coaling that morning ; on the 7th discharged freight; on the Bth and 9th the ship was crowded with visitors—such excitement has not been seen in Sydney since the first visit of the Galatea; on the 9th finished coaling 1100 tons, shipped freight and 20 passengers, and left at 2.30 a.m. on the 10th, arriving at Auckland at 1 p.m. Passengers.—For Auckland : Saloon—Mr, Barber, Mrs. Barber, Mr. Barrand. Second cabin—Mr. Ellis. Steerage—Mr. Wade. For Honolulu : Mr. Donahue. For San Francisco : Saloon —Rev. J. L. Daly, Mr. Bennett, Mr. Brooks, Mr. Zavistowski, Mr. | Barnes, Mrs. Barnes, servant and four children. Scond cabin —Mr. and Mrs. Stormart and two children. Steerage—Mr. Dudgeon. For New York : Mr. Q-illam..
