Naugkton wero pat-h lined 10s. and costs, or to bo imprisoned 48 hours; DitUNK and DisoedtlELX.—Emma Stninson whs charged with having been drunk and disorderly, and, being convicted on tho evidence of Detective Ternalian, was fined 20s. and costs, or to be imprisoned for 48 hoars, with hard labor.
3N ti?gt,ected Cnizo. — James Walker, a neglected child, was, on the evidence of detective Ternahan, sent to the Destitute Children s School for a year.
Larceny.—John Morris was charged by Robert Browning with having stolen a carbuncle pin of the value of 60s.—Prosecutor deposed that, on the ISt.h of May, in attending a marriage a'fc St. Paul's Church, h ■ had osfc the pin produced.—Morris Murks, pawnbroker, depo.-ed that on ysterday prisoner came to pawn the article. Detained it, and cams with defendant to the Police Office.— Prisoner, who stated he had found the article at Mechanics' Bay, but whose previous character was against him, was imprisoned for 10 days.
Licensing Act.—Peter McArthur was charged with not having a light burning over hia hotel door, in Chancery-lane, during the night of the 30th ult.—Constable Egan deposed that he hod examined, at several times, from 1.30 to 5 a.m., and found the. lamp not. lighted.—Constable Shanaghan corroborated the previous evidence.—Conflicting evidence was given for the defence by Kichard Coulson, who described himself as a "practical doctor," whose peculiar practice is in the treatment of the endemics of Chancery-lane ; but defjudant was fined 20s and costs.
