Justices.] DBTOKENs-ESS.-Hannah Brown and Anne -lynne, for first offences, were fined ss. and costs or to be imprisoned 24 hours ; and Kate McMannus, for a second offence, was fined •Iv. tjo,oß^B' or to be imprisoned 48 hours, witn hard labor. Mistaken Chabge obLabcehty.—William Mantel, who had been remanded on the previous day till Monday on a charge laid against him by William Msatyard, of Kohimarama, that he had robbed him of fclo, was brought up on the request of prosecutor, who stated that he had since found in his pocket the money which he had sworn to have been stolen from him by defendant. Meatyard expressed regret and apologised to defendant. The case was of course dismissed. Destitute Persons Belief Obdinance. —J. W. Harrisson was charged by Sarah Harrison, his wife, with having deserted her and their four children without affording them means of support. Sarah Harrison deposed that defendant had left her when the lhames goldfield opened, and had wholly deserted her for a year and eleven months. In March last he had given her a pound. She has four children by him and one by a previous husband.-To defendant: It may have been in April the pound was given.—Fined Is and costs, and ordered to pay 10s a-week TEiiPOHAEY LuxAcr. - On the evidence of Dr. Kenderdme and Dr. Lee, a man of unsound mind was 3ent to the Hospital.
